The Association

The association was founded in 1991 – on Kellerberg, of course. Since 2004, the association has been recognised as a non-profit organisation and is entered in the register of associations.
What does the association want?
The ensemble of cellars and cellar houses on Höchstadt’s Kellerberg is considered unique and is therefore rightly listed as a historical monument.
We see it as our task to preserve and maintain this cultural asset, which has grown over centuries, as far as possible.
One example of this is the ‘Petersbecks-Keller’, which has been extensively renovated above and below ground over the last few years and now also serves as the association’s clubhouse. In addition, it is important to protect the entire cellar complex from decay. The main problems for the cellar complex today include the fact that many cellars are no longer in use or that the essential ventilation shafts are often blocked, causing the cellars to slowly decay or even collapse.
An integral part of the association’s culture are the individual tours through parts of the cellar complex, which attract visitors from near and far – from Canada to Hungary, from Israel to Uruguay.
What’s happening in the association?
The association’s regulars‘ table has now become a firm fixture every Thursday from 7 p.m. at the Petersbecks cellar.
The band ‘DIE SCHO WIDDÄ’ consists of six musicians and is based in Franconia, with strong ties to Bamberg and Höchstadt.
It was founded in 2004 and won the ‘Franken sucht den Supernarr’ competition in 2014.
Our cellar song was composed especially for the Kellerbergverein!
